14. Repeated 'Book pages'

'Book pages' are repeated under two different headings if you designate the same page as the first page under two different menu headings. Or, of you add a new page to the lesson, and have two pages pointing to it, the page can be listed twice causing odd loops in the lesson. In the example, below, I designated 'Question 1' as the 'Destination page' for both topic headings - Questions and Conclusion.

A loop has been created because the links on the Topics Page are set to have the same page appear after a heading. A page name, like a telephone number, is a unique identifying piece of information. To fix this loop, you need to sort out the links designated as the 'Destination page' from each of the 'Topic Headings' on the 'Contents Page'. To fix this, first go to the authoring mode. Click on 'Contents', highlighted here, on the Outline list from the left side of the screen in CALI Author.

Here, the loop was created because the 'Destination page' for the two topics, 'Questions' and 'Conclusion', both link to 'Question 1'. To correct this, click on the 'Destination page' button. A popup listing all the book pages will appear. (Note, that unlike other links in the lesson, the topics must link to a question or book page rather than a popup or web site.) Make sure the link from each topic is changed to point to the proper page. Also, check the link from the last page in the series of repeated pages - it should link back to the 'Contents' page.
