Legal Research for Business
Description
This textbook is intended as an introduction to the kinds of business research that lawyers often need to do, but for which they are rarely trained. It begins with a brief review of general legal research, and branches out to cover such topics as business formation, transaction precedents, and researching both public and private companies. It also covers conducting competitive intelligence by keeping up on company news, researching campaign finance records, and researching foreign businesses.
It is oriented around a 1 credit law school research course, but can be successfully used in any business law course, or by students working independently.
