CALI Author Install file cleanup

Whenever one downloads CALI Author or the CALI Author update, the setup files remain (CALIAuthorComplete.exe and/or CALIAuthorUpdate.exe or similar files). These files can safely be deleted by (1) going to the folder where you downloaded the CALI Author setup program to, (2) clicking once on the file, and (3) pressing the 'Delete' key on your keyboard. This will move the file to the recycle bin, where you can permanently delete the file by emptying it (right click the recycle bin and select "Empty Recycle Bin.")

If you do not know where the downloaded files are, click once on your desktop and press the "F3" key. You can now do a search for CALIAuthorComplete or CALIAuthorUpdate. If these programs are found you can delete them using the above steps.

However, if the search window displays CALIAuthor.exe DO NOT DELETE IT. By default, CALI Author resides in the C:\CCALI folder. The CALIAuthor.exe file here should never be deleted by hand unless a CALI staff member asks you to do so in the course of troubleshooting.

Finally, if CALI requests you to do a "clean" install of CALI Author, you should (1) make backups of all files/lessons you are currently working on. (2) go to the Windows Control Panel "Add/Remove" files option and select "CALI Author" and then follow the prompts to remove it. (3) reboot the computer to clean up all stuff that might have been sitting in memory. (4) Re-install CALI Author using CALIAuthorComplete.exe.
