Connecticut Legal Research: Primary Resources

This lesson is meant to provide you with an introduction to Connecticut primary legal materials. After you have completed this lesson, you will have a better understanding of where to find and how to use Connecticut primary law materials, including case law, statutes, and regulations.

Basic knowledge and familiarity with primary legal resources is required for this lesson.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the lesson, the student will be able to:

  1. Identify and locate the sources of Connecticut primary law.
  2. Distinguish between the various methods and means by which the primary law is published.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to use the finding aids and tools for each source of primary law.
  4. Explain when and why each source and/or finding aid or tool should be used.
